Early Days
03:24
|
|
||
2 x 2 x 2
She’s perfect in her own way
Oh, the blastocyst girl
Free in her symmetry.
Oh girl… You’re gonna love this pursuit
The doctrine cups you in a lake free of proof
Girl, I ain’t got faith but I got the truth
And I don’t share it in this fucking booth.

Six Days
06:04
|
|||
Six days ‘til you’re leaving here
Six days ‘til you disappear
To be rid of you, so close now
No need to get you down.
I’m here now, don’t forget
Don’t forget
When I do.
Leaving is never a bad thing
When skies are full of sun
Leaving is never a bad thing
When skies are grey and glum.
Six days, hours counting down
Six days with an evening frown
I want you gone, I want you now
I don’t think I’m coming round.
I’m here now…

Thorns
03:46
|
|||
We hurt ourselves playing in the nettles
So why did we venture further into thorns
By the end, our clothes were wet and muddy
We left the undergrowth as children scorned.
Six thousand never cried so loud
In our wiser days
Under the Balkan sun
Lower than man
Rest upon the dirt
People all the same
Raked like leaves in the autumn sun.
Well nothing, nothing could touch us
Our skin was always pale & clean
We turned around, we turned an ignorant eye
To scenes we’d find more serene.
Six Thousand…

Cathy
03:54
|
|||
I’ve got me my very own Cathy
I hope she don’t put me on her shelf
Whilst she thinks ‘bout herself
Yet those eyes still make you melt
The iron flows from every pore
And red flows from her scalp
Always wanting more and more
Until you’re crying out for help.
Nothing to feign, just Cathy’s pain
Nothing to fear, just Cathy’s tears
No-one’s game, just Cathy’s gain.
I’ve got me my very own Cathy
She twists me like her doll
You know it really takes its toll
This next hand I’m gonna fold
She’s got my jaw locked like her dog
She’ll have her own way, my God
She’ll drown me like some sorry sod
She’s all smile and sweet nods.
Nothing to feign…
I’ve got me my very own Cathy
She’d always kept me on her shelf
She likes to dust around my shell
‘Though you never really could tell
When she’d let you believe
For at least a moment you’d have space
Before she’d begin to weave
Her legs between the lace.

Swansong
07:57
|

Waking up to life today
The world looks better dowsed in grey
Violently shaking coloured spray.
Nothing here feels like it’s mine
Though to touch it feels just fine
Satiety-saturated mind.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
It never matters what you take
Reality these days is half-baked
It hops along at slanted gait.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The air tonight tastes so surreal
Its whiskey and its velvet feel
Gets you on the reel-to-reel.
What’s mine is nothing next to you
I hope you know this through & through
I’ve run out of things to prove.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope you see just what you’ve got
When others beat you to the shots
In your dreamt-up selfish plot.
Please see me when you see fit
When all you have has gone to shit
I’ll conjure up my lifeless tricks.
Your audacious, child-like frown
You have when all the chips are down
Makes me wish I came around.
From some old, dusty iodine dream
Where nothing felt as it all seemed
Waking to the dark, you screamed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
All these plagues swim ‘round my head
As I’m led up in my bed
I wonder if I’m really dead.
Perhaps I’m not even real
I can touch but I can’t feel
My cold fingers leave a cold seal.
This life leaves me empty & dismayed
I think I need to go away
I want to end this if I may.
When I’m dead & when I’m gone
I’ll be the swan, I’ll sing your song
I don’t think I will live too long.
